Hosting a course

LQM are based in Nottingham and most of our training is delivered in the excellent training suite at our offices.  However, we are aware that traveling to Nottingham is not convenient for some and that the travel costs can be prohibitive, particularly for multiple delegates.  In these situations, why not consider hosting the course(s) yourself whenever and wherever is convenient for you?  Whether you are a local authority, consultant, contractor or a regional group, hosting an LQM course usually works out cheaper per delegate and can result in considerable travel and accommodation savings.

Its your course, you get to:

  • choose the date (subject to trainer availability)
  • choose the venue
  • provide appropriate catering arrangements
  • decide how/if you provide printed notes to delegates etc.

 LQM will provide:

  • a laptop (if needed)
  • a data projector (if needed)
  • the presentations and notes (if needed); and
  • a knowledgeable and experienced trainer(s) capable of communicating and sharing their knowledge with your delegates.

Hosted courses are usually offered at a fixed price, with an upper cap on the number of delegates. The price depends on several factors including the course requested, the number of trainers required and the travel and accommodation costs incurred by LQM. However, for 10 or more delegates, the per delegate rate is usually cheaper than our standard rates, plus delegates benefit from reduced travel time and associated costs.

There is flexibility and hosted courses can be run on a variety of business models. For example, if don’t have a sufficient number of internal delegates to make the course cost effective, perhaps you could offer places to colleagues in other departments or offices of your own organisation. Alternatively, you may want to open your course up to delegates from outside organisations (either locally or nationally). LQM can even assist you in promoting your course and finding those additional delegates through our established networks, including our website and other online fora.

We have been offering such hosted training courses for several years and many clients have found them an ideal way to control costs while meeting the training objectives for their team.  Indeed, East Northamptonshire Council said:

"We have found collaborating with LQM very useful in delivering high quality, cost effective contaminated land training at a local level. We have hosted a number of courses with all the places being taken up quickly to the extent that we ran Chemistry for Contaminated Land twice due to demand! .... This joint working has been beneficial to us and LQM and  is something that we intend to continue with. "
