Consultant Support

LQM are available as specialist sub-consultants to support other individuals and organisations successfully deal with difficult and complex contaminated land issues.

LQM are well known for providing training and developing risk assessment tools and guidance that is used by many of the leading environmental, engineering and construction consultancies and contractors to develop the necessary staff competencies and capabilities to deal with contaminated land work.   However, our services go much further than this as we also regularly provide direct sub-consultant support to such companies.

The management of contaminated land requires a multidisciplinary approach and is subject to large uncertainties.  Even on the simplest and most well-managed projects the unexpected can, and often does, happen:

  • naturally-occurring contaminants threaten the viability of the development
  • soil tests show the presence of contaminants that were not anticipated
  • earthworks uncover caches of asbestos debris
  • excavations reveal unidentified structures, tanks, odours or soil staining
  • validation testing reveals contaminants in 'clean' imported soils
  • regulators cannot agree on acceptable levels of soil contamination

LQM are regularly engaged by other companies to provide specialist advise and support to deal with these complexities.  Either where the necessary skills and experience is not available internally or where external impartial input is seen as beneficial.

If you think our input could provide added value to your clients, please contact us to discuss your requirements.
