Should I do all the five days in the Introduction to Contaminated Land Series at once?

People sometimes ask whether they have to do all the five days in the Introduction to Contaminated Land Series at once?

The answer is that you can do, but you don't have to.  For those who have some experience, but are going on the courses to fill in their gaps, there is no reason (apart from your preference) not to do the courses one after another.

However, if you are very new to the subject you will benefit from spacing the courses out a little bit.

We recommend doing Day one and Day two together; they set the scene and will help you start to understand the subject matter and the reports you're looking at.

·         Day one is on legislation and the conceptual site model.

·         Day 2 is on site investigation

Then do Day 3 a bit later.  Day 3 goes into human health risk assessment which is more complex and people get more out of it if they have a bit more background EG about six months or so.

Similarly Days 4  and 5  benefit from being done  a little bit later. Day 4 goes through all the remediation options and Day 5 discusses how to review reports.

Don't be tempted to do day 5 without having done the other courses as you need the information in days one to four to benefit from day 5.
