KeyCSM - Known Bugs

KeyCSM is legacy software but due to a continuing demand from the industry, it remains available on the understanding that there are bugs that you will need to work around.  Two known bugs are ‘jumping layers’ and ‘slipping maps’.

Jumping layers

In ‘jumping layers’ the cursor to pick layers keeps returning to the top layer. The fix is to make a copy of the layer (Right click, duplicate) and work on the copy.

Slipping maps

In ‘slipping maps’  – the background map becomes unaligned with the overlay.  It is more likely to happen on large files. All the shapes will be there, but they will need to be moved to realign with the base map.  The advice is to  export as JPEG (or use the snipping tool) at regular intervals so you have output to refer to.  If it is necessary to move the shapes, they can be highlighted in groups and moved back into position using the mouse or arrow keys.
