We also currently delivering contaminated land training on behalf of the following 3rd party organisations:
We offer a number of discounts on our courses - Please see individual course brochures for specific details.
We appreciate that public sector organisations are under significant budgetary constraints and find commercial rates for training unaffordable. Consequently, it is our normal policy to offer a significant discount to public sector organisations, such as local authorities, HPA, Environment Agency etc. Please note that these discounts apply only to direct employees of these organisations and not to 3rd parties employed by the public sector.
In general, we also offer discounts where two or more places are booked together. Please not that such discounts are based on the cost savings made by processing a single booking and are only available where multiple delegates are booked onto a course and a single invoice is issued.
Several of our courses are accredited with The Geological Society of London. For these courses a discount of 10% is offered to Geological Society members (subject to submission of proof of membership). This discount is not available on unaccredited courses.
Booking forms for each course are included within the course brochure. Please download the relevant brochure (see above), complete the booking form and return the completed form to us using the instructions on the form. Please note that for QA purposes we can only accept bookings on an official booking form; bookings cannot be made over the phone etc.
Unfortunately, we must insist that payment must be received prior to attendance on the course commencing. Payment is accepted by purchase order/invoice (please note the invoice must be settled prior to the course) , cheque or credit card.
Once we have received your booking, we will confirm the booking by email using the delegate's email address provided on the booking form. If confirmation has not been received in a timely fashion, please contact us to confirm receipt.
Joining instructions will subsequently be emailed to the delegate prior to the course.
We are aware that travel and accomodation costs can be a significant factor in deciding whether or not to attend a training course (especially for multiple delegate groups), and that time away from the office is at a premium for many of our delegates. Furthermore, some delegates find that our standard courses do not offer an exact match with their training needs. Consequently, we also offer bespoke courses delivered at a location organised by yourselves; either using standard course materials or developed specifically to met your needs.
The costs of such training will depend on a number of factors, such as location and preparation time etc. and the number of delegates. However, to make such courses cost effective a minimum of 10 delegates are usually required. A number of local authorities who have organised bespoke courses for their staff and also invited staff from surrounding authorities in order to ensure the affordability of the event.
If you are interested in a bespoke course, please contact us to discuss your requirements and potential costs
Please note that the course is not administered by LQM and we are unable to answer any queries relating to the MRes. All inquiries for further details should be addressed to Professor Nathanail at the University of Nottingham - contact details can be obtained from the University website.
Paul Nathanail established an MSc in Contaminated Land management while at Nottingham Trent University and brought the course with him when he moved to his current post at School of Geography, University of Nottingham.
In 2006, the course was modified to an MRes (Masters in Research) rather than an MSc as this allowed the course to be run with less residential time at the University making the course more amenable to consultants and other full-time professionals.
Full details of the current MRes course, including the downloadable brochure, are available on the University of Nottingham website.
