PUBLICATION OF THE UPDATED 'SNIFFER METHOD' (30 April 2003)
The 'Framework for deriving numeric targets to minimise the adverse human health effects of long-term exposure to contaminants in soils' (commonly referred to as the 'SNIFFER Method' or 'SNIFFER Framework'), has just been updated and published on the SNIFFER website to ensure compatibility with UK policy.
The executive summary, full updated report and electronic worksheets (for metals and organics) are available as free downloads from SNIFFER website.
LGA GUIDANCE ON IMPLEMENTING CONTAMINATED LAND LEGISLATION
The LGA in conjunction with the Environment Agency, CIEH and DEFRA have
produced a lengthy document providing guidance to help local authorities
implement the contaminated land legislation.
